Dominate the head first.
• Control the head with a solid cross face and use your chest for additional smothering pressure. Make your partner feel uncomfortable so you can take advantage of their reactions.
• Aim to always have your head on the mat. This increases the smothering effect and makes it difficult for your partner to create frames, while providing you with extra base if needed

Attack the frames and isolate the wrists
•Attack the wrist as you secure the head position using your whole body instead of just your arms. The motion is like a dive bomber pushup - you want to roll it out to help you establish the pin
• When you grip, make sure your thumb is always pointing towards your partner’s head. This will makes it more difficult for your partner to circle the hand out.  If your thumb is facing away, its easy to break your grip because of the pressure on your thumb.

Set up dominant control and force the reaction
• After you pin the wrist, attack the other wrist and look to establish a gift wrap or  Kimura seatbelt.
• If your partner stays on their side, you can take the back
• If your partner works to put their back on the mat, you can slide into the head & arm choke series
• If you fold your partner’s wrist under, you can force them belly down and attack the neck
